How did Prohibition affect the economy during the 1920s?
The prohibition enabled the way that gangs could traffic their income. The deaths had decreased but it also made an increase in gang violence. People who were in the alcohol business would have to find other work which was hard on their financial stand point. The prohibition also increased the selling price for alcohol so more people would spend money to get it illegally.
As you can see from the graph abouve alcohol consumption increased as the prohibition went on.
